Summer Assignments
ELA Department
This summer, students will complete a grade-level ELA assignment to help them keep reading, writing, and reflecting before the new school year begins. The assignment gives students a chance to practice important literacy skills and prepares them for the work they will do in class in September. Please make sure your child completes the assignment and brings it to school during the first week back in September. This is a graded assignment, and teachers will discuss it with students during the first week of school. Thank you for supporting your child in setting aside time to complete this work carefully over the summer.
Math Department
Rising grade 7 and grade 8 students were provided with an Amplify workbook (Accelerated version) to use as practice and guidance over the summer before moving into their next grade. The book focuses on the standards from the current year and is able to practice skills over the summer. The workbook can remain at home, and students may use as skill practice for their upcoming year.
Science Department
Keep your science skills sharp this summer! Students have the opportunity to complete the attached Summer Science Packets for extra credit. Each packet is designed to reinforce the foundational concepts and skills that will help students be successful in their upcoming science course. Students who complete the packet should bring it to their Grade 7 or Grade 8 science teacher at the beginning of the next school year to receive extra credit. The activities are intended to review key skills, build confidence, and provide a strong foundation for the exciting science topics ahead. We encourage all students to take advantage of this opportunity and start the new school year ready for success!
