ELA
All students in Grades 6-8 receive rigorous, high-quality instruction aligned to the Next Generation Learning Standards via Expeditionary Learning materials
Math
All students in Grades 6-8 receive rigorous, high-quality instruction aligned to the Next Generation Learning Standards in Envision Math materials and Pearson Algebra. All Grade 8 students will be prepared to take the Algebra Regents in Grade 8.
Science
All students in Grades 6-8 receive rigorous, high-quality instruction aligned to the Next Generation Learning Standards, in partnership with Urban Advantage. Grade 8 students have an opportunity to take the Living Environment Regents.
Social Studies
All students in Grades 6-8 receive rigorous, high-quality instruction aligned to the NYC Social Studies Scope and Sequence which aligns to the Next Generation Learning Standards and the State Education Department's new Framework for Social Studies. Grade 8 SP students have an opportunity to take the US History and Government Regents.
The Arts
All students in grades 6 - 8 receive three periods per week in a talent self-selected by the student (in grade 6). Students can choose from: Fine Arts, Band, Chorus, Dance, and Keyboard. Additionally, all 7th grade students receive two periods per week of visual art.
Physical Education

Foreign Language
Grade 8 students receive three periods per week of instruction in a foreign language: Korean or Spanish.
English as a Second Language
English as a Second Language classes are provided for students who are English New Language (ENL) based on a Language Assessment Battery test. Students learn to read, write, and speak English in group instruction based on their level of proficiency. All ESL instruction is aligned with the Common Core Standards. In addition, ESL classes strive to help students share, preserve, and celebrate their own traditions and heritage
Schoolwide Enrichment Model (SEM)
All grade 6 and 7 students spend one period per week in a self-selected cluster based on their strengths and interests (over 20 options). SEM provides enriched learning experiences, develops talents, and provides advanced follow-up opportunities.
Assembly
All students attend assembly with their grade at least one period per week. They are provided with important information and notified of upcoming events at the school.
Lunch
All students have one lunch period per day during which they are provided with lunch from the school, or can bring lunch from home. Students also have the opportunity to purchase snacks from the vending machine or cart. Barring inclement weather, students go outside in the schoolyard for recess or can utilize the school library after finishing their meal.
